Just a quick, very late note to say that blackshirtboy is taking down his DeviantArt site on September 1. I've always enjoyed blackshirtboy's work and hoped he'd do something for this site some day, but he's decided to move on to do other things with his life. So download his pics now, before they're gone, and best of luck, blackshirtboy!

I am very excited this evening to post what I think is one of the very best things ever published on tgcomics.com (TGC). All A Girl Needs is a beautifully drawn, gorgeously colored comic by the ultra-talented artist, Siproites. It's a simple, six-page story, and Sip tells it with both humor and flair. I love his command of anatomy and composition. I adore his confident linework and gorgeous women. I'm infatuated with the little fairy named Tiggany. I hope you will read this comic (did I mention it's for adults only?), enjoy it, and then go to the Forum to leave Siproites a note (I expect to see some raves!). There's also a larger PDF with crisp, embedded type if you want to download that version (the link's on the bottom right of the page).
As you may have noticed, I am totally in love with Siproites' work. He's already hard at work on another comic, so hopefully it won't be too long before he blesses us with another amazing TG tale, filled with Sip's wondrous art.
I'm also very excited to continue the effort to make TGC one of the main places on the web to find the work of the Queen of TG comics, Tebra. Tonight we're adding three new categories of Tebra's story-art, Twisted Cinema, TG Fiction Classix and Tebra's Miscellany. If you missed any of these works on Tebra's eBay auctions (the original art for these stories has already been sold), you'll be able to enjoy them at your leisure here. There's much more to come this fall in terms of Tebra. Many more eBay pieces will be posted, as well as an all-new, never-before-seen comic. This will be the first item ever for sale on TGC. I hope some of you will be willing to buy it (and help support the artists and the site).
I've also nabbed some of the ever-prolific Infinity's work, a comic called The Beta Tester, from his DeviantArt page and added it to his Portfolio. I love Infinity's 3-D work, but I'm a total sucker for his hand-drawn pages. By the way, Infinity says he'll be moving soon, so we may not see any new work from him for awhile after this.
Finally, I'm adding seven new panels of The Hot Date. As I mentioned when I started this comic, it's a pretty basic TG tale. And nothing much happens in these panels in terms of plot. But hopefully you'll enjoy the art (and the sex!).
In terms of plugs, I have to mention that you can now read online one of the most influential TG comics in my life. The Remarkable Adventures of Heather Reilly, by Adam Walters, was published a number of years ago by Sandy Thomas, and has now been re-published online by Heroic Publishing via Wowio. When I initially saw this work, it made me realize how much potential there was in terms of TG comics. It's professionally, passionately drawn, as well as cleverly told. Heather Reilly is filled with dynamic perspective and astute observations regarding gender. Without Heather Reilly, there would never have been a tgcomics.com. You can read it free online on Wowio, or pay to download a PDF for the bargain price of $1.50. I hope everyone will take a look and enjoy this wonderful work. I only wish there had been a second issue. I've always wanted to know what happened to Heather next!
You can also read online reprints featuring some of Heroic Publishing's TG superheroes (some have stories and art by Adam Walters) on Wowio. There's a good list going on the TGC Forum here (feel free to add more Wowio links if you find them!).

If you'd like to help form the direction of a comic, now's your chance! Gwydhar is asking for feedback regarding the direction for the next "season" of The Werewif. Check out her post on the Forum. I hope some people will respond to her query. Thanks!

It's a full moon tonight, so you all know what that means (or at least, you should!).
That's right. Another chapter of The Werewif. We learn a little more about Linus' condition in Chapter 5, as well as more about the person who bit him.
We've also got another great batch of single panel recaps from Lovely Lorna Samuels. I don't know how Lorna keeps coming up with new gags. She's well past two hundred cartoons now, and still going strong!
This was going to be a larger update (Hot Date, more Tebra, some other surprises), but a few things have been delayed, and, well, you'll just have to wait until next time. Sorry.
Onto other topics. There have been a lot of interesting articles in the press in recent weeks that sound like synopses of stories posted on Fictionmania. The XY Games, an op-ed in the New York Times, discusses the sometimes blurry boundaries of gender (you might need to register to read it, not quite sure. Registering is free, by the way). Olympics and gender-testing is discussed in A Lab Is Set to Test the Gender of Some Female Athletes, also from the New York Times. Here's the last paragraph: "In 1936, a German athlete named Dora Ratjen finished fourth in the women’s high jump. Twenty years later, Ratjen disclosed that he was in fact Hermann Ratjen, and that the Nazis had forced him to compete as a woman."
Or how about this female-to-male transformation from the Times of London, How blue pills turned Heidi Krieger into a man?
There was also a news story about a young couple who were married, but authorities now suspect that the bride was really a man. I think authorities were interested because it took place in a state where gay marriage is illegal (North Carolina. Or maybe South Carolina.) And they got suspicious because the bride subsequently applied for a name change to something funky like Serendipity Flowerpower (it was better than that). I read this story a month or two ago, but can't seem to track it down. If somebody finds a link, they should definitely post it on the Forum.

Everything always takes longer than you think. Between the last update and this one I delved into learning something about Ajax and Spry, web techniques that I hoped might cut down on the amount of bandwidth this site uses (which keeps getting higher and higher!). But after spending a week learning and testing, I still couldn't get the galleries to work the way they do now, so I think I'll chalk that up to wasted time and return to it at some later date. Sigh...
But there's nothing to sigh about when it comes to this update (other than sighs of pleasure, of course). I'm very excited to present more work from the venerable Tebra, the queen of TG comics! I'm proud to give some of Tebra's eBay work a permanent home on the web. Only certain pieces of Tebra's art will be posted here (none of her Marvel or DC superhero or Archie fan art). The focus will be on Tebra's original creations. The Otherverse, Tebra's unique universe of superheroes and supervillains (all with a TG twist, of course). Read the pulse-pounding origins of AirPilot, American Icon, Checkerboard, Boomer, Me2, Pop Tart, and more!
There was a lot of text crammed into the original panels Tebra posted, which made the stories rather hard to read. The versions on this site have the text separated from the images, so you'll be able to more easily absorb every terrific twist and turn. The font for these pages is Comics Sans MS (but will default to a more basic sans serif font if you don't have it on your machine). If you want Comics Sans MS, you can definitely find it for free somewhere on the web, or buy it for $20 here.
Tebra's second universe is The Bimbo Baths, a powerful pool of water that causes those who become immersed to embrace their coquette-ish side.
I'll be updating Tebra's pages whenever she does new work in these two universes. I hope this will build a bigger fan base for her characters and concepts! And some other work from Tebra will be added in the coming weeks.
The next thing up is a double update from the prodigiously talented artist, Infinity Sign. Infinity's given us fifteen new panels for his ongoing comic, The Opposite Effect. The table is now fully set for some very interesting, and sure to be awesome transformations. Infinity's Portfolio page has been updated as well (you've probably seen this work already on his DeviantArt site). It's an amazing assortment of character sketches from his 3D comics, original art, and some full blown comics pages (some, alas, never to be finished). Thirty-four new pieces in all. I have to say that I am blown away by his latest page of Hot Date Fan Art.
Speaking of The Hot Date, I'm finally putting up five new panels. Sorry for all the delays (I left Kylie in quite a position to be holding for so long!). I'll try to be more regular with updates from now on (but no promises).
Last, but never least, are ten more single panel recaps by Lovely Lorna Samuels.
Quick plug time: If you haven't seen them already, be sure to check out Mako's latest Tales from the Underground film, The Rules. And as I've mentioned before, I'm completely enamored with the stitched-together videos of TGTales. She's got a bunch of new ones up in the last week or so, and they're all terrific. The comic timing in Seducing My Wife's Boyfriend, for instance, is dead on perfect.

Let's start the new update with a new artist. Please welcome Gwydhar to the site. She and Michael Wakcher have created a nifty new comic called The Werewif. Some of you may have seen it on Gwydhar's own site (with lots of other nice art) or seen it mentioned on the Forum, but I'm thrilled to be able to post Gwydhar's work here. I love her use of solid blacks.
One of the funnest things about The Werewif is that Gwydhar updates it with twelve new panels every full moon. And since tonight is a full moon, it's the perfect time to launch The Werewif here on TGC. If you've already read the first three chapters, you can jump straight to Chapter 4.
I'd also like to officially welcome Seuzz as a contributor to the site. Seuzz has been pumping out some terrific modified covers on the Forum. He's developed Crime as a new TG genre, inspiring other talented captioneers such as Andi Foster to join the fun. Seuzz is moving over to the Modified section of the site with a new captioned comic. Step Into My Parlor is an intricate tale of bodyhopping craziness. It's an original TG take on a romance comic that I think you'll enjoy.
But that's far from Seuzz's only contribution. He's written two stories inspired by a couple of Altered Fates covers I did many moons ago. Please read The Man Who Wasn't There and Three On A Match.
Since I was already adding some Stories Inspired By Covers (or in some cases, covers inspired by stories), I'm finally posting four of BobH's tales that he wrote awhile back have accompanying comic covers. There are three Carnival of Mirrors stories, Four Fates, Hero, and Generations. And last, but not least, is The Chapford Wives.
We're not even close to done. Lovely Lorna is back once again with ten new single panel recaps. She's fast approaching two hundred cartoons, a milestone I'm sure everyone will appreciate. Let's all give Lorna a hearty congratulations on the Forum for having the brain power (and funny bone) to cook up so many TG jokes.
We've also got a new Caption Contest. This time around it's an alluring color drawing by Tebra. She had it up for sale on her eBay site, so I decided to snag it and, with her permission, post it on the Forum. Tebra will do the lettering for the winning captions, so this time around, there's no need to add them yourself. And, best of all, the winner will get a prize -- Tebra's original artwork (with the winning captions added!). Wow!
In addition to everything else, I've been working hard behind the scenes. Some of the contents pages, such as the Comics page, were set up in tables, so it has always been cumbersome to add a new entry and shift everything over. Now I've redone the page (and will gradually redo the other "contents" pages in the coming weeks) so updates will be less painful. The Forum is going to undergo a slight tweaking as well. And I need to redo the galleries. I want to switch to Ajax to save on bandwidth. And... and... sometimes it seems like an endless job, tinkering with TGC.
All this webmaster work has left me once again without enough time to produce any new Hot Date panels. But thanks to Infinity Sign, this update is not without new images of the lovely Kylie. Infinity has produced three fantastic pieces of Hot Date fan art. I love the way he's incorporated the logo with the figure. Gorgeous work!
Finally, the blog page (especially with this entry!) was getting rather long, so Jan-Jun 2008 is now archived.
That's it (plenty!).
Peace,
