I enjoyed the latest chapter of the Werewif and enjoyed the ending to the Mask of Venus. Can't wait for The Mask of Venus to come of in Spring 2010.

Hate to be a naysayer, but the Werewif pace is glacially slow. That's three frames of plot stretched to 10.

I have to say I agree. Every month is waiting just to get about a panels worth of new info, if that. Sorry Gwyhar to hear about the brake in. Been there, and done that. It's why I'm living in the crap hole of an apartment I have now. Had to get out quick, and glad I did.

I'm just totally confused by Werewif, it's a little hard to make out who is who and I found myself baffled by this episode - however it doesn't change the fact it is a visual treat - I don't mind that it is updated once a month - I just wish the instalments were longer.

I certainly can't complain about Werewif's content, I just also wish that we got to see a bit more for the long wait that it necessitates! But only because it's interesting and the art is just fantastic to look at.
Sorry about your computer and other accessories. Sadly, some people just don't care about others. But, at the very least, you have you and can keep doing what you want to do, hopefully things can get sorted out so that every aspect of your life can be more normal again.

I also wish the story came out faster, but I think it's worth the wait. Gwydhar my sympathies for your loss as well. I've also been robbed and it's a really disheartening experience. Not just for the loss of one's things, but the feeling that your home isn't really your own anymore, that it's been violated by a stranger. I hope you are able to replace the physical items without too much trouble. Can we do anything to help?

Just a quick note of thanks to Commotion22 for the Mask of Venus which I personally found to be thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. It's a totally different take on the tg theme and all the better for introducing a completely new sci-fi twist to bodyswapping. Well done!
Regarding Werewif, to be honest I agree with a lot of the comments above. I have to re-read the last two chapters everytime a new one comes out because I can't remember where the story got to, only to read the new panels and be left with a hollow feeling that yet again the story does not seem to have gone anywhere. The artwork is super, the characters seem interesting but the storyline is baffling......
Sorry about the break-in Gwydhar, a few years ago we had a targeted burglary and had our flatscreen tv stolen. That in itself was not such a big deal (although they did tear the wiring through the wallboard to get it out), the annoying aspect was that they picked up my prized guitar on the way out of the window. Ho hum. It takes a while, but you do get over it. All the best.

wslgeo: Great for C22 to keep us tantalized. Who is Allen/Christine going to have sex with in thatbody? When the time comes to finally cross that line, I think it's obvious who the lucky candidate will be! ;) But they aren't going to fall into bed with eachother, like they almost did. There are a few rather severe emotional obstacles in the way-- Stay Tuned!!

My sympathies go out to Gwydhar! My apartment was robbed while I was in Grad School 25 years ago. The lost items were eventually replaced, but the feeling of violation and fear of a repeat haunts me to this day. I occasionally have VERY vivid nightmares, and if away for extended periods I begin to dread returning home for fear of finding the house robbed. My biggest fear is finding I had forgotten to lock a door or window, practically inviting a break-in.

Been robbed myself. And the thing is we think it was the building security that did it when it happened because the apartment was robbed, but the robbers locked the front door behind them. And you need a key to do that. And building security are the only other people with an extra key to the apartment. We had to get extra locks put on the door that no one else had a key to.. Werewlf? Slow but good as always. And Mask keeps getting better and better. Thumbs up to oth. And Garfield? You have the best avatar EVER! Viva la bouncing boobies. LOL! :) Dee .................................................. .......... THE CONTINENTALS. C22-
Just wanted to send you a big thank you for "Mask of Venus." I enjoyed the story from beginning to end and loved the epilogue. After all the crap she'd been through, that smile in the last panel was actually a bit of a tear-jerker.
And I remain in awe of your image rendering skills. I played a bit with Daz and gave up after a week or so.
I look forward to your story in 2010!

As The Werewif Turns
Now that Linus/Lindsay some how made out of the swamps is still very daze and confuse about what has just happen in the swamps. For some strange reason Linus/Lindsay start to head deeper in the swamps where there are even deeper sink holes. As the alligators watch on, Linus/Lindsay a little over his/her head literally IS THER A LIFEJAKET IN THE HOUSE ??
Stay tune on this TG Channel and this TG time for the next installment of As The Werewif Turns
Gwydhar getting rip off. I will bet its was some lowlife scum acquaintance that knew what Gwydhar had in the way of computing software. If this was a smash and grab, how do you explain why they didn't take the jewelry and other things and just the computer equipment.

Heya guys Thanks so much for the comments and for the good thoughts. Everything was insured so now it's just a matter of getting everything replaced and trying to not be too paranoid. It may well have been someone that I know who instigated it, but I'm trying to avoid casting aspersions without evidence and take comfort in the fact that if they were hoping to shut down my creative process by stealing my tools that they will be disappointed to see how un-devastated I am :-) Sorry that you think that this episode was slow- can you give me some suggestions about what would make things flow more quickly? I lose perspective when I'm working on it because I spend so much time on each frame I forget how quickly they are read. Aside from being released monthly, how do the frames read when they are all together- are they still slow then? I'm considering making printed versions of this story and would be interested to hear how the reading experience compares. Thanks! Gwydhar

Why is everyone complaining about the pace of Werewif? There are plenty of "hello....WTF? I'm a girl!!!!.....goodbye" type comics on the site. I like things just the way they are with Werewif. I can read a monthly update fairly quickly and then go over it again a few times and pick up some of the subtleties which the script and artwork contain. You don't tend to have that degree of engagement with some Poser comics, especially the shorter ones. If you absolutely have to change it, then one or two extra frames a month would be more than adequate. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it :-) "I see a bad moon rising"

I don't think anyone is complaining about the pace of the actual story, just that it is a bit much to wait a whole month for a few frames.

Chalkerfan: Why is everyone complaining about the pace of Werewif? Because it's really just incredibly slow. Look at the new 12 panels that just appeared. Nothing happens. There's nothing wrong with having a deliberate pace, but it is nice to read something and feel like you've gotten value for your time. If the creators know that they're going to be releasing something in 12-panel chunks once every full moon, then each of those chunks should offer something that satisfies the reader. At the rate at which "The Werewif" dribbles out, there's really no room for filler, as good as the art may be. Not every panel has to be action packed. But there should be some feeling of progress. femur: Last month, a few folks expressed disappointment at the pace of the story. To me, such sentiments are complimentary, because it means they're hungry to read more. Complaints about the pace and the amount are different things. Complaining about the pace is not saying "this is so good, I wish there was more!"; it's saying "this is not a satisfying reading experience because what I'm getting out is less than the effort and/or patience I'm putting in". Honestly, I'm not hungry to read more. I'm not at the point I was with "Girl of My Dreams", "Shocked!", or "Opposite Again", where I stopped reading because it seemed like there was never going to be any payoff, but I can sort of see that point from where I am.

No-one's forcing you to read it. If you're getting so frustrated with Werewif then stop reading it. In the past I've said that I like slow-burners and as far as I'm concerned Werewif is ticking over nicely.

Two of those three series you mentioned above are now finished - however unsatisfactorily or otherwise that ending might be - OA is looking like it is moving into end game but I am not sure - I liked all of theses series.
I'm not a fan of Werewif's slowness - I like the gimmick of releasing it once every full moon but I wish it was more than 12 panels - still I appreciate that the artist and writer can only do so much - I actually liked this instalment - I loved the way that Lindsay's hair was drawn and the little details.

GreatSage: I'm not a fan of Werewif's slowness - I like the gimmick of releasing it once every full moon but I wish it was more than 12 panels - still I appreciate that the artist and writer can only do so much The problem is not the 12 panels, it's how they're used. You can look at comic books and strips in print or online and see people who pack more into less. Take, for instance, Girl Genius. The Foglios release one page, three times a week, but they seem to believe that because they're only releasing one page at a time, each one of those pages should be satisfying. Not necessarily in an "anybody can jump in here" way, but such that a regular reader will come back because they felt satisfied rather than (just) teased. Of course, I'm mostly annoyed by what femur put on the front page. There's a real difference between "the pacing is too slow" and "I wish there was more!", and as a sometime-critic, sometime-writer who takes these questions seriously, it's frustrating to see them treated the same.

I'd be inclined to agree, although I have felt that some updates have made better use of the limited number of panels than others, there are times it almost feels like they are procrastinating - but then I suppose getting the mix between rushing things and dawdling can be tricky to get right.

Good, constructive criticism, Jay. Good examples to reinforce your point. Can't argue with it.
