I realize now that I should have mentioned what kind of car Alex drove the first time we saw it. I'm going back and editing it now.

Apparently it looks like Pikachu - you appear to have reduced the amount of description you gave the car. I am not extremely fussed about the car - if I wanted in depth analysis of a car I'd read Misfile or watch Top Gear.

No, I mean I went back to when we first saw it in Chapter VI, and worked it in as a side note then... Sorry for the retcons, I don't want to make you go back and forth reading chapters over again, but I posted this story here to get feedback and work out the kinks, so I'm going to be doing some revising. ^_^; GreatSage: I am not extremely fussed about the car - if I wanted in depth analysis of a car I'd read Misfile or watch Top Gear. Well, I understand, but I think the fact that it's a Pokémobile says something more about Alex's character. And it's not really in-depth analysis...

Great story so far. I unfortunately skipping many sections throughout, which may have been a bad idea. My fault for waiting so long to start reading this, and starting at 11 p.m. Still, great work so far.

Well - it does say something - sorry I didn't mean to sound overly critical of the car thing - what you did is about right

And since I'm having entirely too much fun, I worked in an extra line of dialogue when Sami is decrying her magic-assistant outfit: She stormed out of another changing room, blushing from head to toe. "I look ridiculous!"
"You look amazing."
"I look like a hooker!"
"It's more modest than the swimsuits."
"I won't be wearing the swimsuits on a stage in front of a crowd of people!"
"It's the rules, magician's assistants have to be hot and dress with pizazz."
"And what about the magician?"
"Oh, don't worry, I'll be wearing a suit covered head to foot in orange sequins, and a green top hat with a stripe of red and black polka dots. You won't look out of place."
For what seemed like the umpteenth time that day, she rolled her eyes. "Show business..."
"Come on, just buy it, and we'll be out of here."
"I say once again, 'Show business.'" She went back in to change. "And you're carrying ALL the bags in when we get back to David's."
"You drive a hard bargain, lady."

CHAPTER X
Josh drove up the street. He had hoped that once he saw the house number it would jog his memory, but it turned out he didn't need to... the hot chick was waiting on the curb. Whoa, and she was wearing a little blue number that really showed off her assets.
This was gonna be a cinch.
He pulled over, leaned across the seat and opened the passenger door. The chick looked shy, nervous... it was amazing how chicks with smoking hot bodies could be so insecure. It was a huge advantage, all Josh had to do was play hard to get, she'd think it was her own fault and she'd just get more and more desperate to please.
He'd taken the usual preparations, there was a twelve-pack under the seat, and a bottle of wine in case she was the romantic type.
With a dress like that, he doubted she was the romantic type.
Still, the dress was light blue, instead of red, black or purple. Blue and white sometimes meant that the girl expected romance, but the dresses were usually more stodgy than that. This one could go either way.
"So, where are we off to?" she asked, still acting shy.
Good, he got to make the decisions. Sometimes he had to play along, let the girl pretend to be in charge, but she was already looking for him to tell her what to do. He made a mental note to keep up the nice-guy act after he'd bagged her, he definitely wanted to do this one again a few times. "I thought we'd just head out for a little walk on the beach."
"That sounds fun."
"Glad you think so." As he drove, he snuck a few more peeks over the side. Pretty hot, he thought to himself. Not the biggest tits, but they were nice and firm, and she had a tight little ass, with a narrow waist, and holy shit her legs were long and they went all the way up. Sweet.
He let her catch him looking, and gave a little smirk. Let her know she was hot. He let her catch him a few more times, and then he stopped looking. It was an old trick, let her feel beautiful and then pretend to lose interest, she'd feel insecure, like she'd done something wrong, and had to earn his approval back.
Looked like it was working too, out of the corner of his eye he could see her shifting, acting nervous.
After a bit, he decided to make conversation, just to tease her a bit more. He thought of something to say, when he looked in his rear view mirror. "What's that guy doing, driving with his lights off at night?"
The chick looked even more nervous. "What? Who?"
"That douchebag following a couple blocks behind us. It's night, he's got no lights. Ah, don't worry, we won't crash. I know what I'm doing."
She still looked unhappy. A perfect time for mood music. He turned on a slow song in the CD player. Not a too romantic one, but not too explicit, either, he wanted to keep her guessing. She seemed reassured.
He turned off into the beach parking lot, and opened the roof, to look at the stars. He reached down and fished a couple cans from under the seat. "Beer?"
"Um... okay, sure." She took a can.
This was awesome. It was obvious she didn't drink much, so all he had to do was coax her into a beer or two and she'd be wrapped around him in no time. He popped the tab and drank. "The sky's pretty tonight, isn't it?"
"Yes... and look, the moon's almost full."
He looked up at it. "Yeah, it's beautiful. Almost as... hmm?" He looked down and saw her hand over his drink. Oh, she wanted to hold hands? Quaint. "Almost as pretty as you." He switched hands and took hers in his.
"Thank you... um, cheers." She raised her can and took a sip.
He laughed and took a chug. "Yep." Hmm, it tasted funny. "So, how long have you been on the squad?"
"The squad?"
"The cheerleading squad."
"Oh... right, I forgot. Um, not very long."
She forgot? Wow, she was in the moment. "How you liking it?"
"Um... well, it's... okay, I guess."
"You look great in the uniform."
"Er... thank you."
He yawned. "Sorry, didn't mean to yawn." He yawned again, feeling a little tired.
"It's okay... um, that uniform is a little small for me, though."
"Oh, don't be like that, it looks great." He didn't want a hottie to start wearing a larger uniform, seeing her pour out of a small one was a real treat. "It's... um... hmm." He lost his train of thought. Wow, he was tired. He hoped he wouldn't pass out before bagging the chick. Maybe he shouldn't drink any more. "And may I say, that dress is nice."
"Well, thank you again, but... I think it's a bit... much."
"Much? Yeah, right, you... look... uh..." he shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs out. "You look amazing."
"You don't think it's a bit too skimpy?" She was grinning now, for some reason.
"Come on, it makes you look great..." hoping to wake up a little, he leaned across and brushed her hair out of her eyes.
She tensed up a little, but she smiled, like she was just a little shy to enjoy it.
He wondered if he should wait until she drank some more before making his move, but he was flagging, and she seemed pretty receptive already, so he leaned over, hoping for a kiss. And kept leaning, and sort of slumped over, missing her, closing his eyes for a bit. He looked up. "Oh... damn, I'm tired... sorry, babe, I..."
He turned around, thinking he'd heard a car door slam. On the other side of the parking lot, he saw that car that had been following them with its lights off before. Some people were getting out, shadowy figures, and walking towards his car. What the fuck was going on? Bleary-eyed, he looked at the girl, who was biting her lip and grinning. Not getting it, he tried to sit up, and almost made it, before leaning back. As Josh closed his eyes, he saw some people standing beside the car, opening the door and reaching for him.

David, Eddie, Sami and Alex crowded around the computer screen, with Josh laying unconscious on the bed.
Sami sneered. "If this is the kind of girl he likes, I'm surprised he wanted me at all."
"For him, it's quantity over quality," Alex reminded her. "This is just his preferred one of the buffet."
"Look at the size of those things," David muttered.
"I bet she's got a sparkling personality, too," Eddie said. "Can you look that up?"
David clicked, and a screen came up. "Hmm..."
Eddie grinned. "Wow, his IQ is going to be even lower."
"And she's a nymphomaniac," Sami pointed out, "look at the arousal levels." Sami's own arousal level hadn't been bothering her too much lately, thank heaven.
"And look at what affects that arousal level," Alex pointed out.
"Let's see... just about everything tunrs her on, but what turns her on most is... is being told what to do, and... and... and being insulted? Oh, that's just lovely," Sami growled. Her own arousal level hit rock bottom and kept digging, she was that disgusted.
"Gullible too, and timid," Eddie pointed out, reading the list. "Wow, not even a trace of self-confidence."
"What about suggestibility?" Alex asked. "How weak-willed is he going to be?"
David said, "Huh. That's supposed to be on here, why isn't..." he noticed an alert waiting to be viewed, and clicked it.
It read, "TRANSLATION ERROR 153: Unknown Personality Characteristic," and popped up a window full of diagrams and fourteen-letter words.
"Translation error? What's it translating?" Eddie asked.
"These charts and diagrams are what the computer actually sees, the interface is programmed to interpret that and give us the plain English, so I don't have to go through and explain the whole thing by myself. But now it doesn't know what to give me..." he scanned the items on the screen, and stared in slack-jawed shock.
Alex leaned over behind him to get a closer look at the screen, and said, "Does that say what I think it says? Can the bots really do that?"
"Let me check for other errors," David said as he typed.
The screen said, "Translation Error 153 isolated. Scanning for further errors," and after a moment it said, "No errors found. Program can proceed."
"Yes... it can," David groaned. "Oh for the love of..."
Alex just laughed.
"Mind letting us in on the joke?" Sami asked.
David trailed a finger up to the screen. "This... this means that the projected subject has a lock placed in her subconscious self... making her literally unable to disobey an order, or even a request. It's designed so she'll obey Josh, but when he's not around... and he won't be... she'll be conditioned to obey any man."
"So... we can tell her to do anything and she'll do it?" Sami asked. That would be a pretty convenient way of preventing Josh from blabbing, they'd just tell him not to.
"Not you, Sami," Alex said, grinning. "Just men."
"WHAT?!"
"It's true," David groaned. "She'd have to obey males, not females."
"Even I'm disturbed now," Eddie said.
David started typing. His hands were shaking so badly that he made frequent mistakes, but it looked like he was trying to give the nanobots a command. "Sorry, I can't... I can't do this," he stammered. "I'm giving the nanobots a command to cancel the process and corrode."
Eddie cut in. "Whoa! David, time out."
"No, Eddie, no. Nobody deserves this, not even Josh."
"If this is his dream girl, he deserves it!" Alex goaded.
Sami gently placed her hands over David's and lifted them off the keyboard. "It's okay, David," she whispered, "I'll keep these two from going overboard."
David gritted his teeth. "It's my decision!"
"So let us make it." She stood up and gently lifted David to his feet, delicately pushing him out of the way, and sat down in his chair. "Just tell me the commands."
David turned away and buried his face in his hands.

You know I was not surprised by Josh's dream girl - he is emotionally immature and borderline sociopathic so of course he wants a gigantically well endowed moronic sex slave... I hope that common sense prevails and they moderate the more extreme parameters - Sami got lucky because Sam likes smart, confident women with moderate breasts and less extreme bodies - maybe they should make Josh a better person rather than a blonde biimbo?

Well, not to spoil it, but I had in mind Josie starting out as the bimbo, but it becomes a sort of learning experience, and she slowly breaks free of her old prejudices... and thus rewrites her programming... as the story goes on. Character growth, you know? Should I do the personality upgrade now, instead?

It is traditional in TG literature that the obnoxious womanising jerk be forced into living as a woman - preferably a sex crazed bimbo until he , now she, learns an important life lesson - at which point she may be redeemed and become a normal woman.

It's also good because I would have had to re-write the "rules" of the story-verse if I'd had the personality shift now.
As it stands now, David CAN'T edit the parameters. The bots read the subconscious desire and create a template, and David can only say "OK" or "Cancel."
I realize I'm the author and can change the rules any time I feel like it, but I don't want to make David TOO omnipotent. ^_^;

Sorry about the delay, I've been away for a few days. Here's as far as I've gotten in chapter 11:
CHAPTER XI
Josh opened his eyes. Damn, what happened? Was he dreaming? He still felt a little weird, but he thought he was awake. Still, something felt kind of off. Had be been drugged? Like in a movie? Or was he just tired? Or hung over, how much had he drank last night? It must have been a lot, 'cause his head felt all fuzzy. But he hadn't had that much, only a couple of beers, or was it...? He couldn't remember. Numbers were a little confusing right now. He must have had more than he thought.
He dragged himself out of bed, feeling all wobbly, like he was wearing water wings full of water... or something. He probably looked awful. Best not even look in a mirror.
Worse, his clothes felt weird. They felt all baggy, and they were soaked with sweat. Ugh, why wear such ugly clothes anyway? He peeled them off. Wait, what did he care what his clothes looked like? Fashion wasn't important, he was a guy. Still, it wouldn't hurt to look nice. He reached for a tube top and miniskirt. What was he doing? He shouldn't wear that, guys don't wear that. Even if he did have the tits to carry it off...
Tits? He didn't have...
He looked down. Huh? That's just a trick of the light, right? Or someone put a pair of rubber tits on while he slept. He grabbed them and tried to pull them off. Ouch, that hurt! Like he was stretching a part of him. Like they were really attached. But something felt good, too... when his hands brushed over the nipples. What the hell... but he still had... the rest of the equipment, right? He ran his hands down, over his hips... oh fuck, his waist was thin... and as he touched where his manhood should have been, he felt an electric jolt, almost... arousal. Why did it feel like a... and why was it wet?
He stumbled over to the mirror. No, that was a window, there was this hot chick on the other side. He looked around for another mirror. The chick was looking for another mirror too. Just as frantically as he was. Ah well, he might as well wave, she was hot... and wow, she was naked. She was waving too! Wow, did she want to... wait, was that...
His skin crawled in horror.
That WAS a mirror.
He shrieked.
Outside the door, Eddie grinned. "Looks like she's awake. Wanna go greet Josie?"
Sami smiled halfheartedly. "All right, I'll go with you. Just don't go overboard, okay? This is tramatic enough."
Eddie frowned. "Feeling guilty? Look what he wanted from a woman!"
"I know, I know, but... still, we're better than he is." That wasn't the only thing nagging at her, but, well, she'd made her choice and it was too late to undo it now, so she'd just have to make the best of this.
"That's right," Eddie said, "And I promise I won't lie to her about a cure just to make her do things."
She shot him a glare. Josh wouldn't need any lying to do things. "Fine."
Downstairs, David and Alex sat on the couch, David still sulking, Alex still cavalier. When they heard the shriek, David buried his face in his hands again, and Alex was poker-faced.
"Sami was having second thoughts," Alex said.
"She's the one who pushed me out of the chair and gave the order," David grumbled.
"She was angry. I think we all were, when we saw that readout."
"I was... just sad, I didn't think he deserved it."
"Look on the bright side. With a brain like hers, she'll need a helping hand, you're too scared and guilty to even talk to her, so Sami plays the good cop for you." Alex got up and headed for the stairs. "I think I'll head up and listen in."
"I'll listen too," David said, getting to his feet... but then he sat down again. "No, no I won't."
"I understand. And for the love of Cthulhu, have something to eat."

GreatSage: MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!! !!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ooooooooooooooooookkaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy... * * * Josh ran for the door, not even thinking about clothes. He pulled the door open, wrenching the opposite knob right out of the hand of Eddie, who was thrown off balance by the yanking and stumbled into the room, colliding with Josh. Eddie felt a pair of tits crash into his chest as he pitched forward, and then it was kind of a blur for a moment. He rolled off the oddly shaped cushion that had broken his fall, and sat up, shaking his head to clear a few cobwebs out. Josh had the wind knocked out of him by that fat idiot landing on top of him, but after a few coughs, he sat up too, and looked around. Was that Eddie? Gosh, he looked stupid, as usual. And who was that? Oh, the chick he had been gonna score with. He smiled for a moment, then remembered where he was, and squeaked, "What's going on?" Eddie had been hoping to come across as confident and commanding, but the somewhat anticlimactic entrance had deflated that a bit. Gloating laughter would probably look a little silly now. Still, he'd try and salvage the situation. He lurched to his feet, and said, "On that note, hello Josie." "Josie?! What's... who's Josie?!" Sami was trying not to roll her eyes at both of them. "Well, Josh is a man's name, not very appropriate for a hot chick." "I'm not a chick!" "Look down." Josh had already looked down. "This is crazy!" He got up and ran for the door, dodging around the other chick. "Stop!" Eddie shouted, panicking for a moment. Stop? Yeah, like Josh was really gonna stop just cause Eddie told him to! And he was scared when he said it, too, which means he might have a chance! But... but he couldn't run. For some reason he just... wanted to listen. Josh didn't know what to do, he needed someone to tell him. Was he really a girl? Eddie was relieved. He'd almost forgotten that Josie couldn't disobey an order. "Well, we don't want you running into the street, do we?" "Well... I... uh... what's going on?" "Oh, we've just taught you to be careful what you wish for." "Did... did you do this?" "Yes. Yes we did." "Change me back!" "Can't. Too late." Josh ran at him, intending to put him in a head lock, but he was so weak now he could barely push him. "Change me back!" he shrieked nonetheless. "Undo it! Whatever!" "It's too late," Sami cut in, "you couldn't survive another shift." Josh leapt back. "Survive?! What... what..." "A human body can't handle more than one DNA shift. If we try to turn you back, your cells will disintegrate." Josh didn't know what any of that stuff meant, but it sounded like they couldn't do it. He slumped to his knees. "P-please? You did this, can't you... like... do something?" Sami almost caved and said she'd ask David, but she didn't want to get Josh's hopes up, and didn't think David wanted his name mentioned. "Not for a while." "How... how long is a while? Like... a day? A week?" The look she gave him didn't look promising. "A... a month?" Still nothing. "Come on, pretty please?" Jeez, that voice sounded silly. Sami was afraid to look at Josh, for several reasons, but she steeled her nerves and just stared. Making a point to only look at the eyes. "Oh for fuck's sake, get dressed!" Josh put his hands on his hips. He wanted answers! Eddie was about to say something meaner, but he caught Sami's glare, and changed gears. "She's right, get dressed." Josh stumbled over to the closet and started looking through the clothes. He reached for a pair of pants and a sweater... anything to cover up this body... but those clothes were so ugly. Who would wear those? Wait, what did he care... ah well, might as well look nice. Make the most of these things, you know? But wait, he looked enough like a girl without dressing like one! But... ugh, it was so confusing... he just picked out some stuff at random, and found himself wearing a miniskirt and tube top. Hmm, they looked good... even if they looked like they were designed for someone shorter and less curvy... but they kinda clashed. Wrong colors. He peeled them off, and tried on another. Shorts and a tank top. Nice, casual wear. And it looked good too. Hey, everything looked good on this bod. But still, didn't hurt to try something else. He had started to lose track of time... which didn't take very long... when he felt something land on him. He shrieked and jumped around, but it was something soft and fluffy. He looked around and saw it was a robe. He looked up in confusion. "Put that on," Sami said, wrinkling her nose a little. Josh looked to Eddie for approval, for some reason. Eddie nodded. Josh put the robe on, blushing furiously as he realized what he'd been wanting to wear. This thing was a little heavy, but it helped. Now he just stood there, shivering a little, waiting for some man to tell him what to do. "Now, for a couple rules," Eddie said. "You can't tell anyone that you used to be a guy, unless we say so." "What? Why not?" "Well, we don't want you embarrassing yourself any worse, now do we?" "I... I'll go to the police!" "No. No you won't. Secondly, you will answer to the name of Josie." "No... come on, please..." Eddie thought for a moment. "Hmm... that's all I can think of right now, actually... oh well. Come on, Josie, let's meet the rest of your new pals." He turned and walked out, Sami following. Josie stumbled along after them. Just for answers, sure...

Sorry about the slipping update schedule... I've been in something of a funk since I got the word that Dollhouse is being canceled... :-( I swear, one of these days I'll massacre the board room at FOX... they've killed Firefly, Arrested Development, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and now Dollhouse... AAARRRGGGHHH. kork: I think that the site should put this in there story section. Thank you, but I'd need illustrations in order to be eligible, and I can't afford a commission.

Top class as always Soralynd - I share your pain - The Eliza Dushku show.... I mean Dollhouse was pretty cool, however maybe there will be a cool movie in which half the cast get killed off - just like with Firefly. Seriously - Dollhouse is awesome.
