They descended into the living room where Alex sat.
"R-Renfield?" Josie squeaked. "You too?"
Alex smiled. "Yep. What's your name now?"
Ed looked at Josie. "Tell him your name."
"Jo... Jo..." He wanted to say Josh. He was going to. He... she... she couldn't. She looked down. "Josie."
"Josie. Perfect name. Short for Jocelyn, I assume."
"I doubt she can spell Jocelyn," Ed grinned.
Josie shuddered. "That... that's not true..."
"Then do i—" Eddie was cut off by Sami's elbow poking his ribs.
Eddie had been interrupted, but Josie had to try anyway. "Um... J... O... S... no, I mean... C? I... uh... E..." She felt like she wanted to cry.
"Good try," Alex cut in, sparing her. "Now then, Eddie, did you really let her wear that bulky thing?" He smiled. "That's an insult to her figure."
"Well..." Eddie said sheepishly, "I think Sami was getting a little impatient, and..."
Alex smiled knowingly, and took Sami aside. "I'll handle this," he whispered, "go commiserate with David."
"I'm not leaving you two alone with Josh now," Sami hissed.
"I understand your concern, and I promise I won't do anything extreme without running it by you."
Sami cast suspicious glances at Alex and Eddie, and a conflicted one at Josh, and then silently walked upstairs.
"Now," Alex said quietly, once Sami was out of earshot, "let's get you done up properly."
Josie didn't want to admit that she liked the idea, but she was too confused to put up a fight.
Sami trudged up the stairs and down the hall, silently cursing to herself. She had forgotten that the readout had said that Sami was now slightly bisexual, thanks to the fucking threesome fantasy that even Sam had entertained from time to time. And now seeing Josie's unbelievably stacked body had now awakened those feelings with a vengeance. Fuck, her panties were wet. How was she going to get through this?
She attempted to open the door to David's room softly, but he still jumped when he heard it. When he saw who it was, he sighed, trying to think of something to say.
She broke the silence first. "So, we've transformed Josh."
"Who is the 'we' in that sentence?"
"We, as in me, Eddie, Alex... and Josh, in a way." Seeing David's snarky nod, she bristled a bit, and added, "With your help, which you could have denied us at any step of the way."
David bristled too, but didn't deny it. "Nice. And yes, I get it, I should have put my foot down. If I had just—"
"Well the fact is, you didn't and neither did I. So let's do what we can with what we have."
He shrugged, still glaring. "Okay. So, you've turned Josh into his own wet dream, and now she can't even tie her shoes without someone telling her too. Now what?"
"I was about to ask you that."
"What are you asking me for? Yes, I helped, but this was your idea through and through, I made it clear that I wanted no part of it."
"Which is why we need to all have input here. Right now I'm trying to get Josh acclimated a little, but this evening I want us all to gather for a little discussion. Not just about Josh, but about everything else, too."
"Fine. Was that all?"
"I just want you to know I'm trying to help."
David was silent for a moment, but then he sighed and said, "Thank you."
When Sami got back to the guest room, she found Eddie sitting in a chair smiling, Alex standing beside him, and Josie in the center of the room, wearing the slinky red dress that Alex had tried to get Sami to wear at the store. It had looked brazen on Sami, and with Josie's impossible figure, it looked downright indecent. Once again she felt herself getting a little flushed. Not nearly as flushed as Josie looked right now, though.
"Excellent," Alex said, applauding softly. "That's much more like it."
"Much, much more," Eddie whispered, practically drooling.
"You've already seen her naked," Sami drawled, walking up behind them, "what are you drooling now for?"
"I know, it's silly, but there's just something about... I dunno..."
"The anticipation," Alex explained for him. "The leaving just a tiny bit to the imagination. It's more tantalizing, more enticing, it draws the eye in."
Josie looked like she was about to collapse.
"All right, you two, the fashion show is over." Sami shooed them out.
"For now," Eddie muttered as they were leaving.
"This gives us a chance to do a little shopping," Alex whispered to him. "I have an idea..."
Sami closed the door. Josie gazed longingly at it, like she wanted them to stay and leer at her some more. Sami felt a great swell of pity, and gently took her by the shoulders and sat her down on the side of the bed. She sat beside her. "So... how are you doing?" Probably a stupid thing to say, but she couldn't think of anything else.
"Horrible... it was awful... they made me dress up in all these outfits they picked out, and Eddie said things to me that... oh fuck... and..." Josie looked down at her knees and whimpered, "and... I liked it. I loved it... it made me feel... " she turned her head up and stared at Sami with glassy eyes. "Oh fuck, I'm so horny..." And before Sami could react, Josie leaned in and kissed her. Heavily.
Sami's eyes went wide as dinner plates. She tried to get away, but Josie had already started pushing her back onto the bed, tugging at her clothes. She managed to break the kiss, and gasp, "Oh God, Josh, I can't..."
Josie slithered onto her, nearly tearing the dress to get it off, babbling even more incoherently.
Sami hadn't seen her body so close. Dear lord, her rack was amazing. It was like something out of a video game, she was so stacked. She could only stare at it. She struggled, but her heart wasn't in it, and her panties definitely weren't sharing her hesitation. She felt Josie tugging at the waistband of her jeans and pushing her shirt up, and she nearly screamed in frustration. She was stronger than Josh's ideal woman, but it didn't seem that way now.
Josie smiled, the first time she'd smiled since she'd woken up.
As Sami felt her bra get peeled off and tossed away, she brought her hands up to try and cover herself, but they wound up just sliding over the bombshell on top of her. And when Josie dragged her nipples over hers, she felt like she was on fire. Then Josie kissed her again, and she felt her arms and legs wrapping clumsily around her, and after that it was kind of a blur for a while...

GreatSage: Sorry Soralynd - do not interpret my silence as disapproval just stunned amazement at how sexy that last chapter was - I'm still recovering LOL. I know, I'm just being oversensitive. ^_^; I still wasn't sure how well I could write erotica, and was worried I'd grossed people out. GrimGhost: So Josie is a Dom with girls, but a Sub with guys, huh? Not really a Domme, but remember, she has to obey men, but not women... and it helps that she was completely desperate at the time.

CHAPTER XII
Somewhere along the way, Sami managed to look at the clock, and find that they had only been in bed for half an hour. She was amazed that they could do all that in half an hour. She had lost count of the number of cums she'd had, probably more than her entire life put together. She was exhausted and was probably gonna be sore for days, but Josie was barely even slowing down. Josie was insatiable. And durable, some of the contortions she was able to do looked downright painful.
Sami looked around for a way out, something to fend her off, but what she saw was Eddie and Alex, back in the room, watching them.
She sat up, managing to shove Josie off her, and attempted to cover herself with her hands.
"Don't mind us," Alex grinned, "feel free to pretend we're not here."
Eddie was not as calm. He stumbled forward a little as he slobbered, "Room for one more?"
Sami gasped. Surely he wasn't planning on... for fuck's sake, he was her brother!
Josie, meanwhile, had finally processed that there was someone else in the room with them. Some fragment of shame returned, and she attempted to hide behind Sami. She stared at the two guys in horror, but she was still so horny, and they were guys... a look of longing was written on her face, for Eddie to read.
Eddie was looking, all right. A stupefied grin spread across his chubby face. He stood beside the bed and said, "Don't try to hide, Josie."
Josie shuddered, her eyes wide. "No... not... Eddie, please..."
Eddie's mind was screaming at him to stop, but it didn't have the energy, all the blood had rushed to other areas. "Come out from behind her... there's room for one more."
Sami wanted to run, but after what Josie had put her through she could barely move. But before Eddie launched himself at them, two arms wrapped around her from the side and pulled her away from Josie. She squeaked a little, terrified that something more was going to happen. Josie may have been up for more, but Sami felt like she didn't want to get touched again for a week. But instead of groping her, Alex just whispered, "Come on, let's get you cleaned up," and gently dragged her away from the scene.
As Alex wrapped the bathrobe around her, she was amazed that even with two naked beauties making out with each other in front of him, Alex had kept his head. She had blamed Eddie for losing it, but she realized that as Sam, even though he'd always respected women, he would probably have lost it too. How did Alex stay so in control?
As he led her out of the room, she looked back. It broke her heart to see that helpless beauty with her brother, especially with Eddie's clumsy idea of fondling, but she couldn't look away, out of sheer morbid curiosity. Only after Alex had already closed the door could she look ahead of her, though she still heard the yelps and moans of pleasure through the door.
Sami staggered down the hall, Alex half-carrying her. She felt sticky. She whispered, "Poor Josh..."
"Josie's not complaining right now," Alex reminded her.
"I know, but... look, I've been watching porn since I learned what porn was, and even I know that women don't actually enjoy those sexual positions," she groaned.
"Ah, but Josh didn't know that."
"You mean..."
Alex grinned. "Don't you remember? You don't just decide what you look like, you decide what you can enjoy."
"Wha... Josie actually enjoys having her body twisted into those shapes?"
"Hey, I'm double-jointed," Alex teased.
Sami failed to see any humor in the situation. "Dear lord, what have we done?"
"Like I said, she's not complaining." They stopped at the door of the bathroom. "Need any help in there?"
By all logic, she should have been wound up and ready for more, but that session had taken so much out of her her libido was probably drained for a year. "No... thanks."
"I'll try and pull them off each other."
Sami shut and leaned against the bathroom door for a minute. Forcing herself to stay awake, she staggered into the shower and tried to clean up.
After scrubbing for what seemed like forever, she dragged herself out of the bathroom, wrapped in a new robe, and went into David's room. He wasn't in. She looked at his desk. He hadn't left any programs running, but the power was still on.
At least she couldn't hear the groans and grunts from the guest room anymore. For a moment she felt lonely, but she heard some talking somewhere in the house. She was too tired to investigate.
She rooted through his closet and found a sweatshirt. David wore loose clothes, and since David was seven feet tall, clothes that were loose on him were gargantuan on most other people. This one made her look like she was wearing several sweaters piled haphazardly over each other. But that was fine with her, she didn't want to show off her figure after what had happened. It would be embarrassing enough being in front of Eddie and Alex after that incident, let alone wearing something to remind them of what they'd seen.
Given that David's weight did not match his height at all, a pair of his jeans fit her comfortably in the waist, and if she rolled the legs up they wouldn't extend past the ankles. She put on a pair of fuzzy green slippers, crawled onto the bed, and passed out.

I liked the response of Sami to the sex - more realistic and original than the usual Horny Nympho nonsense we get - once again Soralynd dares to be different and succeeds where others have failed.

Sami was woken by David gently shaking her. "Hey."
She sat up, and winced. Every muscle in her body was sore. She groaned.
David handed her a glass. "Here. Some tea."
Sami didn't care much for tea, but at the moment, it felt good. "Sorry about borrowing your clothes," she muttered.
"That's all right, it was the least I could spare. You said you wanted a meeting?"
"Yeah... ready?"
"We're all assembled in the guest room."
She followed him there. Josie was sitting on the bed, pouting, but at least she wasn't crying. Alex was beside her. Eddie sat in a chair, looking dazed. He and Josie seemed to be avoiding eye contact. There was one other chair open. David offered it to Sami, and he sat on the floor.
There was an awkward silence for a moment, and then Josie whined, "Who's going first?"
David shrugged. "Alex, why don't you start?"
"Today, while Eddie and I were out," Alex said, casting a meaningful glance at Sami, "we checked out an apartment for rent a few blocks north from Eddie's place. Now, even David's parents can only ignore so much, so we might as well find a place for you two to stay."
"How would we pay?" Sami asked. "We have no identities, how are we supposed to get jobs?"
"I know one job that Josie would lo... sorry, I'll shut up now," Eddie said.
"I'll pay for it," Alex said. "I have some decent cash built up. It should pay the rent for a while, and also get you some fake IDs."
Sami was still a little hesitant. "Won't it look suspicious, two girls living in an apartment paid for by some guy who doesn't live there?"
"Who said anything about me not living there? It's closer to my day job."
Sami thought for a moment, and nodded. "Okay. Josie?"
Josie shrugged. "Whatever."
Alex nodded. "One less thing to worry about. Now then, who goes next?"
Sami went next. "David, before this whole mess got started, what were your plans for the nanobots?"
David shrugged. "I thought I would take them to the Albrook Foundation, and get a job there."
Alex nodded. "Decent choice."
Sami nodded as well. "Better than going to the government."
"The what found thingy?" Josie asked.
Eddie looked puzzled too.
"The humanitarian organization," Sami explained. "You remember Doctors Without Borders? Albrook started out as a spinoff from them. Now they have a couple thousand people, and they've made some great advances in medical science, charity and disaster relief programs. Their headquarters are right here in this town. They'd love these bots."
"So, are you going to make the DNA shifts common knowledge?" Eddie asked.
David shook his head. "I'm never showing the genetic programs to anyone. Not after what happened here, it's too dangerous."
"They can do other stuff too, right?" Eddie continued.
"Yes, of course they can. I originally invented them to attack cancer cells."
Josie had been looking deliberately away ever since the topic of the nanobots had come up, but now she looked at them. "You made a cure for cancer?"
David shrugged. "Certain types, in certain phases anyway. In the simulations, they attacked a dozen types of cancer cells, in at least one phase each. It eliminated one type in three phases."
"That's awesome!" Eddie said. "A dozen types? Even if it is only one phase, if they catch it early enough you can give it to them in any phase they like, right?"
David nodded.
"How many types of cancer are there?" Sami asked.
David sighed. "Over two hundred that have been identified, and probably many more that haven't."
There was a very loud silence.
"Two hundred?" Josie asked.
"How come it can only cure a dozen of them?" Eddie said, frowning. "Can't you program them with different strains or something?"
Again, David sighed in exasperation. "Eddie, let me share a little secret with you. There will never be a cure for cancer. Not one that works on all types of cancer, or even most of them. At least not unless and until we unlock the secret to genetic immortality."
"Why not?!" Eddie snapped. "Other diseases were called incurable and we've invented cures!"
David shook his head. "Let me tell you something that the 'cure for cancer' fundraisers won't mention. Cancer isn't a disease. It's a class of hundreds of different mutations all sharing one common theme: Cells not dying when they're supposed to, and tricking the body's natural defense mechanisms. You see, our cells have natural life spans, cells die every day, and we survive because our remaining cells divide and replace the losses, until they die as well, and more cells divide. It's a delicate balance, but it works. But once in a while, a cell mutates, and simply deactivates its programmed lifespan limits. Then when it divides, it creates more cells with the same property. That's called a tumor. Now, everyone has that happen somewhere in their body once in a while, but our body has natural defences, immune systems that detect those tumors and kill them. But sometimes, the specific mutation doesn't register on the body's built-in radar, so it grows unchecked by our natural biology. That's what cancer is, no more and no less. And the problem is, there are hundreds of different mutations that can cause this to happen, each with a different cause and different code. No cure can detect all of them. This is why radiation, chemotherapy and various drugs can work in some cases but not in others."
Josie was sobbing by this time. Eddie looked crestfallen. Sami stared intently at her knees. Even Alex showed a chink in his armor.
"So anyway," David said quickly, trying to calm them down, "I'm going to do what I can."
Alex attempted to change the subject too. "You know, I think one of my neighbors at that apartment works for the Albrook Foundation. If I introduced you, he might be a good guy to present with the bots."
"All right. Thank you."
"No problem. So... any other business?"
Sami nodded. "I did want to get some more info on the job market, can we make a note to look into that?"
"Certainly," Alex said. "Okay, is the meeting adjourned?"
"I think so."
"Me too."
"Yeah."
"I guess so."

GreatSage: Well that was a bit of a downer episode :). Apologies for the sidetrack, but one of my neighbors (the sweetest old lady I've ever met) has about a one in ten chance of seeing her next birthday... One of our very own forum members is sick too, but she at least says she's getting better (thank goodness). I guess I just wanted David to find a cure as sort of a wish-fulfillment, but then I did a little research and found it was just not gonna happen... I settled for a few. The next chapter will be a little happier, I promise. ... GreatSage: Is that information accurate?

CHAPTER XIII
The next day, the five of them went to check out the apartment. It was on the third floor of a nice brownstone tenament. The window faced the backyard, which was clear, and looked over a row of residential houses on the opposite side of the block. Across the street from those houses was a vacant block, apparently some office building had recently been demolished. This meant they had an unobstructed view of a fair-sized chunk of the neighborhood, and it actually looked quite pretty. It was only when they got to the bay window and looked out at the street across that lot that Sami recognized one of the buildings. It was over fifty yards away, but she knew it by heart. "Oh God... that restaurant."
Eddie went to the window and peered. "Hey, that's the place where Miranda works, isn't it?"
Sami nodded, and turned away from the window. She'd been trying to avoid thinking about Miranda since she'd gotten transformed, and with everything else going on she'd somewhat succeeded, but now it came crashing back.
"Why the long face? I thought you two split up," Eddie said.
Sami shook her head. "No, we'd had a fight, but we were going to make up. I'd even sent her an apology, and... fuck, I still haven't checked my old e-mail since this happened..." She slumped into a chair. "Am I gonna see her regularly around here?"
Alex shook his head. "Not unless you bug her at work. She's not from around here, she comes on a bike."
Sami said nothing. As a guy, she'd loved the sight of Mira riding that bike.
"What are you going to do?" Eddie asked.
"I don't know..." She said, debating with herself. She was somewhat bisexual, so a relationship wasn't out of the question for her, and she definitely didn't want a regular relationship with Josie, but was Mira bisexual too? And how could Sami find out without seeming like a pervert? She shook her head. "I'll have more time to think about it. Sadly, I'm not going away."
David said, "Which of your neighbors did you say worked for the Foundation?"
"Two doors down, his name is Stephen Cielsnicht."
"Stephen what?"
"Cielsnicht. Eastern European. Stick around, I've invited some of the neighbors over for a house-warming. Or an apartment-warming."
"A house-warming?" David was not comfortable with crowds.
"It's okay, stay in the kitchen, I'll tell him you want a private chat."
"Am I invited too?" Eddie asked.
"No. Get back to mom and dad," Sami replied, coming back to her senses. She didn't want him around Josie.
"Aw." Eddie said, as he trudged out. "So, everyone gets to go but me?"
"Only two of us are there to have fun," Alex pointed out. "Girls, they wanna have—"
"If you start singing that..."
"My lips are sealed."
David wasn't even comfortable in the kitchen, given how many people were popping in to grab more snacks from the table. At one point Alex came in and apologized for the traffic, that helped a little.
But then someone else came in, someone he knew.
"Nigel?"
Nigel Cosgrove looked up. "Huh? Oh... you're David Worthington, aren't you?" It was hard to miss, David had been one of the only people in the school taller than Nigel.
Nigel was a man of odd charisma. He was slim too, but not nearly as thin as David, and he was fit. He was handsome in his own way, with a very round baby-face and long locks of diswater-blond hair, albeit with a squeaky voice. But he always wore black, no other color except the occasional dark red. And no T-shirts or jeans, he was always in button-down shirts and pants, even back in high school, and his fashion sense hadn't changed since then.
David and Alex had been fighting for the title of Biggest Tech Wizard in School, but the title was only available since Nigel had graduated the year before. In his junior year, Nigel had won a national science fair by constructing a high-tech solar power generator that doubled as an ecosphere and a water purification system. He had bashfully pointed out that the technology had been around for ages and he had only combined and microfied it, but it had won him a scholarship at any college he chose.
"Yes, yes I am... I'm flattered you remembered."
"Oh, no biggie there, I remember liking your entry in the fair too. And Alex's, I was amazed he moved in to my building."
"You... you live here?"
"Yep. And my sister is living with me until she saves up for her own place."
"Amazing... what are you doing now?"
"Well, I was offered a scholarship to the Ivy Leagues, but academia isn't really my thing, so I went into the tech college system, they help prepare you for the real world. I was going to major in environmental engineering."
"'Were?' Why didn't you?" David was shocked.
"I picked up the textbooks for the classes and it was basically just refining my own skills. So I decided to double-degree in civil engineering and political science. You know, the Solar Aquatic System isn't really new, the only reason why it hasn't caught on is the political obstacles and resistance to change. That's where I really need skills."
"Wow. Well, I hope you manage it."
"Thank you. Hope you advance too." Nigel grabbed a snack and headed back into the party.
David was a little disappointed that Nigel hadn't asked what David was up to, but he had been too shy to broach the topic himself. And he was also a little bristled that Nigel had said more nice things about Alex. He'd grown a little more tolerant over the past few days, obviously, but he still didn't think of Alex as anything but a poseur.
Alex then came in to refill the punch bowl. "Hey, Stephen and his family just got here. I'll send him in."
David took a deep breath and calmed down. "Thanks. You didn't tell me Nigel Cosgrove was living here."
Alex rolled his eyes and sighed. "Yeah. Sorry if he was rude, I only invited him to be polite."
"Polite? I thought you worshipped him, same as me!"
"I did, until I actually worked with him."
"You worked with him? When?"
"Ah, a little project we did together before he left high school. Don't feel bad, you didn't miss anything. It wasn't exactly a project to make headlines, and I found out he has an ego the size of the Death Star. I mean, yeah he's a genius, but we're all living in the shadow of Derek. Ah, Sami, hey."
Neither of them had seen Sami come in. "Hey."
"Well, I'll go fetch Stephen." Alex left.
"Enjoying the party?" Sami asked, sympathetically.
David had been almost relieved to hear Alex's opinion of Nigel, he was glad that they weren't just fawning over each other. Maybe he could talk to Nigel a bit more if he came over again. But for now..."Yeah, yeah. Where's Josie?"
"In the bedroom."
"Why? Oh... you mean..."
"Yeah. All the guys here were drooling, and the first one that hit on her got dragged in there with her. Then they were joined by another, and I locked the door to stop it before it got even worse." She shuddered, not wanting to think about it, partially because she'd wanted to join them. "You were talking about Derek Craven?"
David nodded.
The reason their neighborhood had three technological whiz kids wasn't because of the schools, it was because of inspiration, and that had started with Derek Craven. Years ago, when he was only fifteen, he had won a scholarship to MIT by designing a haunted house that used holograms and moving walls to appear bigger on the inside than out. He was now working for M-Tron, a popular tourism company famed for its resorts and theme parks, and he was the youngest executive on the board.
All the geeks in town aspired to be like Derek Craven one day. Nigel had been driven to succeed, and was inspiring David and Alex.
"Yeah, we were. Why do you ask?" David asked.
"Because Nigel Cosgrove is here."
"I know, he just came in here."
"Ah. Listen, that reminded me, you'll be making some decent money off this, you think we could afford a fancy vacation? I always wanted to see that island of Derek's."
David shrugged. He wanted to see it too. Derek was living on M-Tron's island resort, in a giant mansion perched on the cliffs above the beaches and hotels. "Me too. You know, I met him once."
"You did?" Sami was intrigued. "What's he like?"
David laughed. He loved telling this story. "I could lift him with one hand."
Sami laughed, but looked puzzled. "Really?"
"Oh yes. He came back for a visit last year, and I met him. He's well into his twenties now, and he is five feet tall." He paused for a little laugh, and then continued, "Literally, five feet. And not an ounce over ninety pounds. He needs to grow a beard or he'll keep getting carded until he turns sixty."
Sami was leaning against the door laughing, when it pushed open, startling her. She stumbled away as Alex came in with an old man. "Oops, sorry about that, Sami."
"No... no problem." Sami composed herself and headed back out to the party.
"David Worthington, Stephen Cielsnicht. Stephen Cielsnicht, David Worthington." Alex introduced them.

Soralynd: "Stephen what?" "It's pronounced 'Chell-snicked.' Eastern European. Stick around, I've invited some of the neighbors over for a house-warming. Or an apartment-warming." As this is being spoken I am sure that everyone heard Chell-Snicked, why is he telling people how to pronounce a name they just heard? If they were reading it then that would make sense - I am going to guess this is for the readers of this story's benefit. There does seem to be an over abundance of Technological super geniuses in a small area but I don't really mind as I have a theory that at some point we will get to see an Epic battle of the Technomages - of course Excellent Magical Princess Sami will defeat them all but it will be fun to read :)

If they were reading it then that would make sense - I am going to guess this is for the readers of this story's benefit. Well, it kind of is, but it's also a "What did I just hear? Could you slow down and repeat that?" moment. It's an unusual name, David is asking for clarification. GreatSage: There does seem to be an over abundance of Technological super geniuses in a small area Well, actually there's only two real ones, Derek and David, and one of those inspired the other anyway. Nigel may be only pretending to have humility, but he wasn't kidding when he said the technology he used isn't exactly new. What he did for the science fair isn't nearly as far-fetched as Derek's holographic theme park ride, or David's nanotech. Same goes for Alex, who is only a contender for the TBTWIS title because he's a showman, good at passing off the mundane as the magical. Granted, he's very good at what he does, but none of his inventions are really implausible, even with the tech we have in the real world today. That's one of the main reasons David didn't like him, he views Alex as a poseur... which Alex kind of is (to some extent, anyway). I probably should have made all this more explicit in the story itself... I think at some point I'll go back and work some of it into the character introductions. GreatSage: I have a theory that at some point we will get to see an Epic battle of the Technomages - of course Excellent Magical Princess Sami will defeat them all but it will be fun to read :) Heh heh heh... oh, I have a few more tricks up my sleeve, believe me. >;-)

quick question, will Dave have enough of Alex, and turn him into Alexia?
XD! that would be funny.

Sami returned to the party. It was not a massive apartment, so a dozen guests seemed like a lot more, and when three of them were missing, it didn't raise quite as many eyebrows.
She noticed one of the men Josie had attacked was back. She wandered by the bedroom and heard more grunting. Apparently she wasn't finished with the other one.
What was living with her going to be like? Was she going to have every man in the neighborhood over? This wasn't a dorm!
Worse, Sami felt a tingling in her loins, a familiar one. She hadn't thought she'd be able to get aroused for days after that romp yesterday, but now the thought of watching a man plunge his rod into the body of that brainless beauty they'd created... she shook her head, trying to clear the images out. Come on, don't think about how awesome it would be to have a threesome with her. No, no, no. Think about something else.
She had to resist the temptation to bang on the door and tell them to get on with it.
Josie was riding high, her empty head spinning. When this guy had come up to her and talked to her, he'd used some of the cheesiest pickup lines imaginable, but the sight of all these men around had gotten her too worked up to resist temptation, so after a couple minutes she had dragged the poor guy in there and ravished him. Then another one wandered into the hall where the room was, and she realized she'd left the door open. The guy just stood there staring at them. Josie had been horrified for a minute, but then the thought of sharing turned her on... like everything turned her on, so she'd just grinned, winked and wiggled her ass a little, and he'd joined them. Then Sami had showed up. She'd thought Sami was gonna join them too... and she looked horny enough to hump a toaster, but she'd just ran out and locked the door before she could give in. Josie was disappointed, and wanted to give Sami a good screwing to make up for it, but right now she had bigger things to worry about... much bigger.
Her brain had so little processing power that even when it screamed at her how wrong this was... especially when one of them started telling her to get in various positions... the arousal still drowned it out. She'd probably feel like shit in the morning, but for now she was in heaven.
Sami didn't notice Alex walking up beside her until she turned around, and jumped several feet into the air. "WHOA! Don't... don't sneak up on me like that..."
"My apologies. So, it looks like David's interview is going well."
Sami tried to straighten herself out. "That's good."
"Yes. I hear Josie is enjoying the party."
"What are we going to do about her? She's going to burn this place down."
"Yes... and unfortunately, I doubt there are many honest lines of work she'd be cut out for."
Sami looked down. "I know... I know."
"The operative word being 'honest.'"
"I will not turn her into a... a..."
"It doesn't have to be that bad."
"What else is there?"
"She might do well as a secretary."
"I assume you mean sex-retary." She wrinkled her nose. "And I'm not letting her out of our sight, with those kidnappings going on."
Alex didn't seem to register what she'd said, he just continued. "I'm open to new ideas."
"You do know about the kidnappings, right?" She didn't really think Josie would get nabbed, but she couldn't help worrying.
"I know, I know. But there haven't really been that many, the headlines are blowing it out of proportion."
"Well, I know, I was just using that as an examp... wait, hold on, I've got it!"
"Hmm?"
"Let her be your assistant on stage!"
Alex brightened. "Oh... you really are smart."
She sighed in relief. "Oh thank God... so, I can go find a job where I'd actually use my brain, and she can get a job that just means doing what she's told."
"Good, very good... although, I don't suppose you'd mind doing a cameo now and then?"
She nodded. "Fine, what would I do?"
"Well, there's one trick I had in mind that involves swapping two people..."
"Only if you have her turn into me, instead of vice versa."
Alex grinned. "Very good. Thank you."
"No problem."
Alex poked his head back into the kitchen, and found them deep in conversation. He smiled and turned back out, bumping into a kid of about fifteen or so. "Oh... sorry about that."
"No problem. Um... is my grandpa in there?"
"Oh... you're Andrew, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Yes, he's in there, but he's talking to a friend of mine right now, and my friend is a little shy. Come on, have something to eat."
"Uh... thank you. Grandma's here too, she was worried."
"Ah, tell her he's fine. And when you have some free time, tell me about yourself, too." Alex knew how to stall for time. "Your grandpa's a fine man, I wanna get to know you people."
"Yeah, he's a great guy... you know, he and grandma took me in after my folks died."
"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. When did that..."
"Three, maybe four years ago... and I'm getting a new brother, too."
Alex beamed, keeping one eye on the door. "Really? How did that come about?"
"Apparently, they just found out he's my half-brother. He's only ten, he's spent the last few years in the system... poor guy."
"Ouch... well, I hope he finds a good home here." Alex was running out of small talk, wondering if he'd chatted himself into a corner. Still, he'd find a new topic.
"Yeah... I'm kinda relieved he's coming here."
"I would be too."
At that point, the door to the kitchen swang open and Stephen came out, his face beaming. "Alexander!"
Alex was relieved. "Yes?"
"You've got some amazing friends!" He turned to his wife and grandson and said, "I'll be right back, I need to call the office!"
Alex sashayed into the kitchen, and found David, looking like he'd been put through the wringer. "He does talk a bit, doesn't he?"
David nodded. "He liked my ideas, though."
"Who wouldn't? You can put them at least two years ahead of anything the government has."
"I... I can, can't I?" David was grinning lopsidedly.
"Yes, and you can write your own ticket," Alex said. "Just one tip: Don't go overboard on the price, ask for five percent of any profits they make, that should be enough to make you rich. However, demand a clause in your contract stating that they can't sell the bots to the government if they'd ever be used for military purposes."
"Good idea. Thank you."

Oh, you'll be surprised... >;-)
And I've edited the first part of this chapter, to touch on some of the things we talked about further up. Somewhere along the way I'll probably go back and re-work the thing to spread this info out a little more evenly.

The party only lasted a couple hours, much to Sami's relief. As she went in to drag the poor beleagured man out of Josie's room, she almost got grabbed and pulled onto the bed with them, Josie was still rearing to go. But thankfully, Josie had about as much strength as she had brains, so Sami was able to fight away (she'd been in more danger from herself than from Josie) and order the man to get cleaned up, which he did gladly.
They never did learn his name.
Once he was gone, Sami fought off Josie again (even though a one-on-one was even more appealing) and locked her in for good measure. She felt guilty about that, and heard some whining, but at least Josie was satiated enough to not start pounding on the door. After a moment, Sami thought she heard snoring.
As the guests started drifting out one by one, she picked up the phone and called Eddie. She filled him in on the details.
"Thanks for keeping me in the loop," Eddie grumbled when she'd finished.
"This wasn't a time to play around, Eddie."
"So why did you let Josie stay? Just to keep me away from her?"
"I was trying to keep an eye on her, I didn't know she'd..."
"But you knew I would."
"You've done it before..." Sami grumbled, but now she was feeling a little guilty.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. And I do feel a little bad about that, but why punish me instead of her?"
"I wasn't punishing you!" she lied.
"Couldn't you have supervised me better, too?"
"I'm sorry, okay? I was mad!"
"I know, and you had a right to be. I just... look, sorry I snapped."
"I'm sorry too."
"See you tomorrow."
They hung up. Sami felt awful.
Alex was in the process of gently pushing the last guests out of the room, when Stephen came back in. "Hello, Alexander. Is David still here?"
"Right where we left him."
"Thank you." Stephen rushed into the kitchen. Alex gave them a moment, then peeked in. Stephen was talking too fast for him to make out individual words, but he could discern something about David being set up for an interview the next day.
Sami wandered by and saw Alex's grin. "I take it the interview's going well?"
"Yes. Yes it is."
Stephen came out again, grinning, nodded to them, and left.
David poked his head out of the kitchen to make sure everyone else was gone, and came out as well. "Uh... looks like I've got an appointment tomorrow."
"Set your alarm clock."
"I will, I will."
"Oh, before you go," Alex said, "would you mind looking over this?" He took a notebook out of his pocket.
David took it, stared at it, then grabbed a pen and started crossing out and re-writing stuff. "I see the idea, but you need a different filter on the projector lens, and you need a matte finish on the screening instead of a gloss."
Alex stood behind him. "With a different filter, won't the lens be visible from the audience?"
David peered at him. "What were you doing at the science fair?"
"That camouflage only works in one direction."
"You could position it on top. You'd need more mirrors, though."
"Could I borrow some stuff from your lab?"
David was feeling a little more charitable now. "Okay. Come back and grab some stuff."
Sami crept up behind them and looked at the notebook. It looked like blueprints for some kind of modular box.
Alex grinned at her. "I'll need your help tomorrow while David's at the Foundation."
"What is that?"
"Magic." Alex's eyes twinkled.

CHAPTER XIV
They tried to keep the noise down, but the neighboring apartments were bound to hear at least a little sawing, nailing and drilling. They'd tacked blankets up onto the walls to try and dampen the noise a little, which helped.
"Do you really think this will fool an entire audience full of people?" Sami asked at one point during their work.
"Did you know that the human eye only sees about forty percent of what is actually in front of it at any given moment, and our brains interpolate the rest?" Alex said in response. "You have massive blind spots in your field of vision, but your mind fills in the blanks with educated guesses. If you could learn to time your movements to the movements of the human eye, you could be invisible to anyone but a camera."
"Even if it's true, I don't think that's quite the same thing..."
"My point is, we see what we expect to see."
"But most people know it's just a trick, they're staring at it, looking for it. This will be in front of hundreds of people, all looking for the gimmick."
"Ah, but if they're misled as to what the gimmick is, you'd be amazed at how blatant we could make the real one and they still wouldn't notice it."
"You have a low opinion of humanity."
"Yes. Yes I do. Case in point, the reason magician's assistants are all scantily clad hotties..." he paused for a moment and glanced over at Josie, sitting on the couch watching TV.
Sami blushed. Did Alex know what Josie had done to her after he and David left? Dear lord, she'd been hornier than ever, Sami hadn't stood a chance.
"...is because it gives teenage males an excuse for going to see a magic show. 'Oh, I'm just there to check out the babes,' they say," Alex continued, momentarily putting on a phony deep voice for the impression. "Of course, if the magician knows what he's doing, the boys are just as mesmerized as anyone else, but they need an excuse, to avoid being seen as interested in anything other than sports, action movies and girls."
"You really do hate high school, don't you?"
"With an unbridled passion. More on that later. So, how was Josie last night?"
Sami blushed even deeper. Of course Alex knew, how could he not? After Josie had flung her on the bed and nearly ripped her clothes off, they had gone at it for what seemed hours. Once again, she had winced at the sight of a girl in positions like that, but like Alex had said, she seemed to enjoy them. Afterwards, she'd tried to get cleaned up... and then Josie had followed her into the shower, where they started right back up again. She shuddered to think what their water bill would be, after they'd spent over an hour in there, but eventually they'd managed to get clean.
Of course, while she'd managed to wash the scent off her, she'd had no luck wiping the look off her face, that mixture of bliss and embarrassment and horror and contentment and guilt. Of course Alex had noticed it. "She was... fine."
"Just make sure she can walk tomorrow," Alex said, winking, "we'll need to test this thing, and then we'll be rehearsing the act."
Sami frowned, and whispered, "Will she have lines?" She doubted Josie could remember how to tie her shoes, let alone remember lines in front of an audience.
"Not if she's not up for it. Of course, we could try and teach her, see what she's capable of. Hmm... I wonder..."
"What?"
"Given that she has to obey orders, I wonder if we could use that to override a natural fear response. Help her get over stage fright by just telling her to ignore it."
"Uh... before we try that, shouldn't we look over the brain scan again, with David?"
"Oh, I know. I wasn't going to do that without checking first."
Sami tried to change the subject. "Um... er... oh, by the way, David was asking about what you did at the science fair, what did you do?"
"Just my contribution to the tech wars. Here's a little secret. I'm not actually a prodigy. Well, at least not on David's level. Really, they think our school has had a bunch of technological wünderkinds and are calling it some academy of geekdom, but there's only two full-fledged geniuses: Derek Craven, and David. And David only goes there because he pestered his parents into letting him switch schools, just because he hero-worships Derek and wanted to go to the same place."
"Really? I thought Nigel Cosgrove was a genius, too."
"Nigel won a national science fair using twenty-year-old technology. People are idiots, they think he's inventing stuff when the only reason all his ideas weren't adopted decades ago was because of resistance to new technology and lobbies from the fossil fuel industries. And me? I'm just doing what I do best, passing off the mundane as the magical. Sure, I can rig together wires and ropes and do a fair bit of soldering, but this is stuff any kid can learn to do in their garage, if they have the determination, and the imagination. Heck, I needed David's help working out the bugs in this thing, and he doesn't even do the same tricks I do."
"What about all those robots Nigel built?"
"Instructions he found on the internet. I've built a couple of them myself."
Sami had often wondered why their crappy little high school had happened to produce four pioneers in art and science. Now it didn't seem so implausible. "That explains a lot, but you didn't answer my original question."
"I invented a way of camouflaging solar panels."
"Huh? You did?"
"Yep. I can make them look like bricks, roofing tiles, stucco... that's it."
"Well, it's not as practical as David's nanobots, but it's still kind of impressive."
"A bit. In fact, if David were to set up an underground laboratory, I could probably help him keep it a secret."
She grinned. "A master of deceit."
"It's what I do. Unfortunately, I already sold the patent, so it might not be a secret much longer." He grinned. "On the other hand, the people who write spy thrillers are going to have much easier jobs."
She grinned too. "Who did you sell it to?"
"Um... M-Tron, actually."
"Really?"
"Yep. That's how I paid for this apartment."
Sami peered at him, accusatorially. "Did you know that Cielsnicht lived here when you picked this place out?"
"Oops, you caught me. Yes, I was hoping to keep him off the radar of... any major corporations. David knows more about machines than any man living, but he doesn't know the first thing about negotiations or business dealings, so I had to point him in the right direction."
"You love running the show, don't you?"
"I think of it as job training."

The office was furnished lavishly, but David was still somehow reminded of an interrogation room. He felt like crawling into the floor every time one of the people behind the desk looked his way.
There were three people on the other side of that desk. Only the leader had a nameplate on the desk, "AMY LUCAS - FOUNDATION DIRECTOR," and thankfully she seemed friendly. She was a fairly attractive woman, in her late thirties, with golden-brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and soft blue eyes. David had heard of her, of course, the chairperson of the Foundation, whom he had admired for a long time. He also knew Stephen, who was beaming encouragingly.
One of the others, a shy-looking, middle-weight man with dark hair and emerald eyes, had a nametag on his lab coat, "Dr. Travis Zachary, Associate Director of Medicinal Technology," it said. David's stomach lurched at the thought of having a fancy name on his chest all day.
There were two others whose names he didn't know, both sitting in a corner of the room, watching. One was a portly old man, with a mane of gray hair and piercing gray eyes, dressed in an old-fashioned brown tweed, like something out of Victorian-era England. The other was a younger man in a security officer's uniform, slim, with a mop of fiery red hair, a thin face, and sunglasses. The two of them kept exchanging glances, which did nothing to calm David's nerves.
"Mr. Worthington," said Amy, in her surprisingly deep voice, "this is at least two years ahead of anything currently in production anywhere on the planet."
David shrugged. "Well... thank you. I just kinda read what others were doing... and I took the next step, I mean... well..."
"Don't be modest, this is excellent. After reviewing these diagrams, I am prepared to offer a very tidy sum, and a full scholarship, and once your education is completed we will be glad to offer you the highest entry-level research position available, and I have a hunch you will be promoted quickly."
"Oh... well, thank you, but I don't need that much..."
"Oh yes you do." Amy smiled. "Don't worry, we don't want to lose you."
David shrugged again, and blurted out. "Uh... I was just... hoping for a couple conditions..."
"We're very open, within reason. What would those conditions be?"
David mentally kicked himself for broaching this topic too early, but he wasn't sure he'd have gotten an opportunity to work it in anyway. "Well... uh, you can't sell it to anyone... who'd use it for... well, weaponized purposes..." Weaponized purposes? What was he saying? The correct words had just vanished from his head and he'd choked. Oh well, they'd probably get his meaning, right?
"You have my word of honor. We are a humanitarian organization. I assume your friends have told you that you can set your own price for these, and thus we will have absolute leverage about the sale of this material. And I have no interest in doing business with the military."
The old man in the corner spoke up. "In fact, if we've beaten the government labs to the patent office, couldn't we use this to delay them building their own versions?"
Dr. Zachary chimed in. "They'd have to scrap their designs and start from scratch."
Amy thought for a moment. "Patent squatting might be slightly unethical, but in the interests of peace, I think we can soothe our consciences by at least delaying the weaponization of these marvelous machines. Mr. Worthington, with your permission, we would like to file the patents immediately. Of course, you are welcome to be there for every step of the process, and we would be glad to provide you with an attorney in case you need any help later on."
"Uh... that'd be great." David should have been overjoyed, but every time someone made a suggestion he felt like he was getting yanked through a minefield, and once the scary guy and Dr. Zachary (neither of whom he had expected to hear talk, and the fewer people talking the more comfortable David was) had both spoken up at once, he had been nearly disoriented, and could only stammer through an agreement.
"You have just done the world a favor that I doubt it will ever forget." Amy reached to shake David's hand. David had momentarily forgotten how to use his hand, and briefly worried that he wasn't going to be able to and he'd come off as refusing, but in a moment he remembered, and they shook.
David stumbled out of the office, panting and shaking, going over every move he'd made and everything they'd said during that interview, trying to figure out if he'd slipped up somewhere and made a bad impression. Or let them know that he wasn't exactly innocent. Fuck, did the old guy and the red-haired guy suspect something? They seemed suspicious enough. He was never any good at lying.
At that moment, the two of them walked out of the room behind him and brushed past, casting him sideways glances as they left together. That did nothing to calm his nerves, but something slightly better happened when Dr. Zachary exited after them and shook his hand. "Mr. Worthington, may I call you David?"
"S-sure, David. Fine."
"Thank you. I'm Travis Zachary. Well... you probably already read that on my nametag. But anyway, I hope we get to work together, it's been an honor meeting you." He shook his hand again and followed the others.
After a moment, David slunk out, hoping the old guy and the guard were just cranky by nature, or that Dr. Zachary was more influential than them.

I'm not sure - I thought Alex had made a couple of suggestions of things he absolutely had to remember to have added to his contract - but I think he only covered the one about no military applications. Of course I might be wrong.

Well, like I said, David was nervous, and only remembered the one that mattered most to him. He's not in it for the money anyway.
