Oh trust me - there's a difference - you would know it when you heard it. Welsh accents tend to have a lilt to them missing from most English accents

Really? I did not know that. Well, Kate seems good with accents. So if there was ever a Continentals movie and she were to star as Fiona I'm sure she'd do the citizens of Swansea proud. :) Dee .................................................. .................... it should be pointed out that the Welsh person in the advert is Ruth Madoc, the woman, the other person is the Englishman - it ought to be explained these actors were in the inexplicably popular British Sitcom Hi De HI about a Holiday camp in the 60's their characters had a simmering sexual tension going on between them. The character Ruth played is actually from Swansea - so that ought ot even be the right welsh accent - as you may not know there are regional variations in dialect - listen to the character Gwen from Torchwood, she's from Cardiff - a different accent as I hope you can tell

Isn't Michael Sheen from Frost/Nixon welsh?

He might be - I am not sure - Anthony Hopkins of Silence of the lambs fame is definitely Welsh, as was Richard Burton and so is Tom Jones the singer, and also Catherine Zeta Jones the actress.

Oh I LIKE her! I know she is based off of Emma Peel and Agent 99 and so on but I am detecting a smidgeon of James Bondian arrogance there as well :)

My sig-tag on the other forums I go to is "It's like Sherlock Holmes meets the 60's tv show "The Avengers" with a dash of James Bond for flavor". So, I'd have to say yes. There's a bit of Bond, James Bond arrogance to be found. And Fiona is a woman who, as a girl, saw that women got no respect in society so she decided to live her life as a man. So consider the shock value that she represents to scoiety not just in her dress, but in her saying exactly what she thinks and feels while other women of the age are more constrained by society. And she's well aware of the effect she has. And hey, if you like it, tell ALL your friends where you got it. LOL! :) Dee .................................................. ................. Teach yourself Welsh. Lesson 1. Pronounce the following North Wales village name: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogochuchaf. 'nuff said, or not said in this case :-)

It means something like "Little White Church on the Side of the Hill " famously the longest place name in Britain.

You and Monique have, between you, managed to recreate the artistic and Literary style of the Victorian era Penny Dreadfuls and made it palatable for a modern audience - you have my sincere admiration for your talents.

Damn! And I was so sure the butler did it. :)
That poor man's face is a sight. Does he even have a nose anymore?
Good stuff yet again. And I'm sure Elvis would be blue suede shoes with envy if he saw Smythe's sideburns. Now those are mutton chops. LOL!

As ever, the hyper-kinetic tension of the stressed out lord is brought to life by Monique's bold, decisive and passionate pen strokes. Guided by your story telling this promises to be a real work of art when the story unfolds more. The thing is, of course, is that people are going to notice the art more because it is right there and all people see of your writing is those few bubbles of speech, what many forget is that the writer of a comic also storyboards and directs the scene - certainly some of us do - it's how I did it in a currently unpublished project I was working on last year. So I just wanted to let you know I recognise how good a team you are and acknowledge your part in the process too.

Thanks for saying so, Sage. It's much appreciated. And you are so very correct. As the artist Monique does have the flashier role in our partnership for all the reasons you pointed out. But as you also so correctly mentioned, every single thing she draws I write. People tend to forget that much in the same vein that they tend to think actors makeup the words they speak in tv shows and movies. So it's always nice to have the writing appreciated. :) Dee .................................................. ...... THE CONTINENTALS. Lord Ashton sure looks a lot healthier then when we last saw him a few pages ago. Heh.
Drinking to soothe a guilty conscience that landed him dead perhaps?

Not my fault. Unfortunately because webcomics aren't like print comics where you can just flip thrugh to the end, sometimes you end on a page like this one. It's not my fault, I just work here. LOL!
